Corona outbreak caught me unemployed. Or shall I try to sound politically correct and say \u2018in between jobs\u2019? Definitely not an ideal situation to be in, especially when I tell you that I spend last seven years building a career as an events manager.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Advantages<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

But for my immediate family, me being in between jobs during this lockdown had some STRONG positives – I started looking after our daughter full time, while my husband was able to carry on with his work uninterrupted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Having talked to other parents who had to work and take care of their children at the same time, I am sure we saved ourselves from a lot of stress with things being the way they are. We didn\u2019t have to work in shifts and neither of us had to chase after Klara in the park while being on an important call.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I am fulfilled!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

And I am happy. Happy to be with her, happy to talk, laugh, eat, go to the parks, sit on the potty, draw, dance, do yoga, put her down for a nap. And now when we are starting to see the exit from this lock down here in the UK, I get sad because I do not want \u2018my time\u2019 with her to end and I believe both of us will need to get used to the normal again: she will return to the nursery and I will eventually find a job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I guess what I am trying to explain in here is that I enjoy being a full time mum in this precise moment in life. However, I am used to a slightly different way and pace of life; where success is measured with ongoing achievements and outputs. Whether that is: pass an exam, change jobs or have a super successful meeting, it doesn\u2019t matter. I\u2019m used to ticking things off my list and getting that dopamine kick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I achieve, therefore I am<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For this reason, I gave myself a challenge and decided to work on a small project of mine: a place on the web for my own thoughts and words. Ever since I can remember, I wanted to have my own blog, but other things always got in the way, main one being (and I am partially ashamed to admit this) the technical side of building a page, getting a domain and SEO\u2026 oh the SEO\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finding time<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

But finding time to work on this blog was hard. The only logical time I could do something for myself was when Klara napped, but our household owned only one computer that was now used by my husband as he was working from home. So I started getting up before them to do some work, occasionally worked in the evenings and on the weekends I would lock myself in, letting husband and daughter go to the parks and catch up on the time they missed during the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My place on the web<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

So here I am, a couple of months down the line, I bought a new computer, audited (among others) a course on SEO and I have created this place, space for my own thoughts and words. At the moment, these thoughts and words are mostly on motherhood and parenting. If you are asking why, it\u2019s simply because for me, life passes way too quickly ever since our daughter was born. I am quite keen to freeze time, but as I cannot do it, I decided to write about this period so that I don\u2019t forget it easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if I am lucky enough to have a few readers who find contents of these pages interesting or useful, well… that would make me REALLY happy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And one day, when big danger of Corona passes and companies decide to host events again, I can get into that interview room and proudly say that I looked after my daughter full time, created my own blog and obtained a very good understanding of SEO – if I ever get asked how I spent time in between jobs.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
